Pico de gallo is something I will make from scratch consistently. Today I’d like to share a pico de gallo recipe with you and hope that you’ll find yourself making it too! There’s some chopping involved, but the reward is so worth the effort.
Years ago, I followed a recipe to make this. Now I just throw the ingredients in a bowl and let the magic happen. You really can’t mess this up.
Ingredients for Pico de Gallo
To make this pico de gallo recipe, gather these few ingredients. They taste better if they come from your own garden, but honestly I make this year round and market produce is just fine!
- Roma tomatoes
- Onion
- Jalapeno
- Cilantro
- Salt
- Lime Juice (try for fresh, but I use bottled often)
My advice, practice this recipe and adjust it to your liking. You will not be disappointed.
Directions
- Chop and seed tomatoes
- Chop onion
- Chop and seed jalapeno (leave seeds for spicier flavors!)
- Chop cilantro
- Add all to a bowl, and stir in lime juice and salt to taste.
- Refrigerate for an hour to let flavors meld.
Serve with whatever you’ve got. Girl dinner chips, grilled chicken, or homemade tacos… so satisfying.

- 1/2 Jalapeno, diced
- 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped
- dash salt
- 1 lime, juiced (2-3 tsp juice)

- Dice the jalapeno and add to the bowl.

- Chop cilantro, add to the bowl.

- Add salt and lime juice and stir. Add additional to taste.

- Refrigerate for an hour before serving.
